I bet you’ve heard that phrase before. It is very common when someone wants to direct your thought into a totally new direction or just wants to make you think at all.

I’ve red these three words for quite a bit of time, before figuring out, what exactly their real meaning is. Actually it took me about 28 years. And I definitely would like to take you less than that 🙂

But to realize what exactly it is all about, we need to first make sure that we know the true definition of the word “box”. As in this very popular sentence, it is used as a nice reminder that most of the people live in such a box. I prefer the word “cage”, as it is a lot more clear.

We’ve been all caged many years ago, while learning how to communicate with the world. And it is more precise to say that we have caged ourselves, while letting others influence our mind and implementing a whole lot of different programs in it.

What has been happening, is that you’ve been living for quite many years by these programs you inserted unconsciously. Not a good thing at all. It’s just like living someone else’s life. If it’s the life you really love, then great, but if something’s wrong with it? If you don’t really feel like you are on the right track, then what? It’s time to clean the hard drive. It’s time to go outside the box.

The question is how?

1. Self observation

Stop and look deep inside yourself. What are you hiding in there? Are there any deep secrets that need some cleaning? Some creepy thoughts? We all have them, no worries, but it’s way better when they’re gone. It really is, believe me. I’ve spent years cleaning my hard drive, no matter that it was wiped out completely when a fast moving car met me on the highway almost five years ago. Some programs are really tricky and they need time to be noticed first of all.

One of them is that we are not worth doing what we really love. Blogging for example. I love blogging. And if I was following my negative thoughts saying that I can’t learn how to manage a wordpress theme or how to install and order what’s needed on my blog (I’m still learning as I write) so it would never be a reality now. But in fact it is. Just because I decided not to listen to the voice and to replace it with another one. “I can do it!”

So can you.

Do not listen to all the self limiting voices in your head, there just simple mind viruses that need to be eliminated. One by one. Step by step. No need to rush. The outcome will astonish you, it will amaze you. You will scream a huge “Yeah” after realizing how good the feeling is to be unbounded by these ridiculous fearful thoughts.

But again, you need to do that self observation, otherwise there is no way to find the bugs in the system. Another way is a really good friend of yours to do it for you. It works, too, but you don’t have one of these friends 24/7 with you, right? So you need to learn how to do it yourself.
