The rheumatoid arthritis, which affects up to 1% of the population, causes pain and inflammation of the joints, destroying the cartilage and the bone. Associates of the ETH Zurich have developed a special approach in the treatment of arthritis, which they have tested on mice. According to scientists, the animals were completely cured of the disease.
The drug is a base, a mixture of the two active ingredients. The first component is present in the body, this is the immune agent interleukin 4 (IL-4). It is known, that by rheumatoid arthritis it is capable to protect the bone and cartilage. There is an antibody together with IL-4.
