New anticancer synthetic molecules that can imitate the body’s natural defense system against cancer, assemble themselves just in couple of minutes. This is stated in an article published in the journal Nature Chemistry.
British scientists at the University of Warwick have developed an unique anti-cancer drug. The new medicine consists of molecules that are similar in their structure to the peptides – substances naturally produced by the organism to fight infections and cancer, and literally is beeing assembled by itself.
The artificial production of peptides was previously very difficult and expensive when it comes to industrial scale. The new process takes a few minutes and does not require an expensive equipment, and has already proved its effectiveness in the laboratory.
