The first in the United States „green“ city will be built in North Carolina. The new project is called Sonoma Mountain Village.
The ecological city will have 4400 citizens and will provide for theim 3300 jobs. It is anticipated that this place will meet the practical needs of all residents of modern cities, within a walk distance from their place of residence. Each building and even sewer grate will comply with the principles of energy efficiency and environmental protection.
Currently, several companies have opened their shops in the city and the telecommunications giant Comcast has built a support center and for that it received Platinum certification system for the prestigious LEED.
On the roofs of the finished buildings are installed 10,000 solar panels that generate electricity for commercial and supply 2,000 households. The construction of houses and places for farmers’ markets, aswell the organization of public events will begin in the near future.
Sonoma Mountain Village is about to become the fourth eco-city in the world, which will receive platinum certified LEED, which is the highest grade for ecological construction and energy efficiency.
